Frank Fletcher, CEO of Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
“Susie ran mental health first aid training for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust – it was an excellent course. The whole team found the course engaging and useful. Susie is very professional, has a real understanding of the subject and made sure all the team felt safe and secure. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for MHFA training”
Lucy Jackson, CEO of Spread a Smile
‘Doing the MHFA course was an important investment of time and resources for our organisation, to help us better understand how to support our team and our beneficiaries.
The 2 day course flew by. It was a real eye opener and we learnt a lot. Susie made it enjoyable and really tailored it to our needs at Spread a Smile. Her previous experience as a play specialist meant she could really understand what we needed to get out of the course.’
Sally Willers, Shepreth Wildlife Park
‘I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the workshop last night. It was really interesting and informative, and several of the staff have said this morning how much they enjoyed it.
It has given us loads to think about, and we are planning to put a wellbeing programme and mental health policy together now.
Youth Football coach – Melbourn Dynamos FC
Thank you for today and yesterday. It was such a powerful and thought-provoking weekend. A subject with endless discussion that struck a real chord with me. It makes you take a deep and meaningful look at everything around and what has happened in your own life to affect how you are right now and the mannerisms and characteristics we all have.
I hope I can help my son and other young people to share their feelings and emotions better than I did when I was their age. Thank you again.
Sarah, Delegate
"Thank you so much for delivering such a great course over the past 2 days, I’ve taken so much away from it. In some ways doing it by Zoom may have held my concentration a little more, it felt a little more personally delivered and more comfortable than in a classroom! If that makes any sense at all!
A bigger thank you for sharing your personal experiences with us, giving us a better understanding."
Claire, Delegate
"I have never had a course instructor so well informed of her subject, nor so engaged with the trainees. Susie knew her material inside out and included us all in every aspect. Any comments made were taken at value and not dismissed. I felt safe to open up and share experiences. An extremely well delivered course."
Lisa Walder, Director
"FIFTEEN WEST have partnered with Susie over the last year to guide us on our Mental Health journey.
Susie’s Mental Health First Aid Course was excellent. She runs it with the perfect balance of knowledge, compassion and humour! It was important to some of our staff to take part in the course and it was a very worth while investment. We now have 2 Mental Health First Aiders in our business.
Susie also went above and beyond and supported our recruitment network with helpful videos on all aspects of mental health during Lockdown – we cant thank her enough for these really important insights and advice.
Susie has helped us take the first steps to develop an effective wellbeing programme for FIFTEEN WEST. She offers our staff 121 Supervision sessions to support their mental health. These sessions are available to them once a month and they can access them anonymously.
I cannot recommend Susie enough: she has a wealth of experience in particular in supporting young people. She has a unique ability to put people at ease, educates and supports in equal measure and you always come away from any conversation with Susie with a lighter heart and ready to face to the world! She is one of a kind!"
Niki Reilly, Higher Education Champion
“This course is essential for professionals who work with children, especially in the current climate. Susie is considerate of group needs and adapts her sessions to the group dynamic.
The course allows the individual to reflect on their own understanding and biases, as well as offering a brilliant toolkit for supporting young people. The manual is a working document that is there for the delegates to refer to and dip into when needed. I felt armed with the confidence to support young people and not feel like I have to be a super hero!
The thing I most enjoyed about the course was the way we were made to feel at ease by Susie when discussing issues that were difficult. The way Susie adapted the content to the group dynamics was fantastic. I also enjoyed the case study videos and the statistics focus was useful. I also loved ALGEE and Susie’s passion for it was infectious!
This course requires someone with real passion and that is what we got. Susie made this course for me. I felt inspired by her, so much so that I would love to be an instructor myself.
Want to help young people achieve their full potential whilst arming them with some key skills to stay mentally healthy? Then do this course!”
